Honda CR-Z Exterior Reviews

On the outside, the impression of aggressive and solid accent can be seen clearly, thanks to the use of the main lamp that is equipped with DRL and big grille below the bumper plus the existence of additional aero kit.

The hood look rounded and ended with a stand out bumper. Bonnet has a long enough size that is make the driver position right in the middle of the wheel axis. So the weight distribution would be perfect.

At the side, it still feels sporty impression. Alloy wheels with size 17 inch wrapped with a thin tire profile made an appearance alongside the Honda CR-Z is seems to be masculine and sporty. The shape of the door handles is quite different from the present Honda’s products, because its shape resembled the door handles that used on Honda Civic and Honda Genio Estilo.

Right on top of it, can be seen clearly that half the roof using glass. It is an addition as a replacement of sunroof glass, it serves as a door to access the baggage behind. A glass wiper embedded to prevent the rear view is unobstructed during heavy rains, due to the slope roof of the this car. Overall, the exterior look of the Honda CR-Z is quite alluring and impressive, except on the rear side because the shape of the stop lamp resembles the stop lamp that is used on Toyota Prius but badly designed.

Honda CR-Z Interior Review

In addition to the outside of the cabin interior of Honda CR-Z is also quite alluring. The console panel arranged on the right and left of the driver, it is easy to read and accessible. All controls can be done easily because the driver can reach it easily.

On the central part, there is the console audio control and air conditioning with Climate Control technology. Unfortunately, the material used for the manufacturing is plastic in the form of a regular dashboard, so its far away from the accents of luxury.

The cluster instrument inside the cabin use the design that is mocking aircraft’s panel. It is futuristic enough. Large-sized tachometer and digital speedometer was placed in the middle. On the right side there is a MID LCD and an indicator that logging and indicate the fuel consumption in real time.

While the left side filled with indicators of electrical controllers, indicators of the warning, the position of the gear, and also driving mode.

Honda CR-Z offering three driving modes, such as Normal mode, Eco and Sport. Degradation of color on instrument cluster can vary automatically as current driving mode, blue for Normal mode, green for ECO mode, and red for Sport mode.

In addition, this car was designed for two passengers. Used seat quite comfortable although a bit hard. In addition, there are optional spare seats on the back of which is claimed may accommodate children.

Honda CR-Z Engine Performance Review

Under the bonnet, the Honda CR-Z is driven by 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine which are exactly the same as used on the Honda Jazz, Honda City and Honda Freed.

Its engine coded L15A7 and able to produce the power up to 120 HP at 6,600 RPM and 145 Nm torque at 4,800 RPM. This gasoline-fueled engine combined with an electric motor which named with IMA (Integrated Motor Assist).

Additional power that can be produced only up to 20 HP. IMA system itself can be interpreted as a semi-hybrid electronic system that can provide additional power when its needed and it will recharge its battery when the car is driven in the ECO mode.

Honda CR-Z Handling Review

Honda CR-Z use the semi-hybrid engine system combined with gasoline engine under the hood with automatic transmission CVT 7 accelerations and manual with 6 accelerations. Driving experiences is much different because the CVT transmission is a bit harder to operate and its acceleration is also not good as the manual transmission, even it can be set using the paddle shift under the steering wheel.

When the Honda CR-Z used maneuver on sharp turns, its still stable. Because of the suspension that is by Honda CR-Z just like a sedan Civic FD’s suspension. The performance of the brakes also good, although disc brakes on the rear is not yet applying ventilated disc.
